<p>Clean the place as if the Pope were on his way.<br />Spotlessness is the niece of inspiration.</p>
<p>The more you clean, the more brilliant<br />your writing will be, so do not hesitate to take<br />to the open fields to scour the undersides<br />of rocks or swab in the dark forest<br />upper branches, nests full of eggs.</p>
<p>When you fiind your way back home<br />and stow the sponges and brushes under the sink,<br />you will behold in the light of dawn<br />the immaculate altar of your desk,<br />a clean surface in the middle of a clean world.</p>
<p>From a small vase, sparkling blue, lift<br />a yellow pencil, the sharpest of the bouquet,<br />and cover pages with tiny sentences<br />like long rows of devoted ants<br />that followed you in from the woods.</p>

<p>The Daybreaker has a strong cast. A good idea. Some political pun. And then the plot goes wrong. Sad when you think of it, the problems in this narration were not necessary, they stem from a writer&rsquo;s &lsquo;easy way out&rsquo;. It does have a lot of blood though, and intestines flying around. That is good. And Ethan Hawk without reflection in the mirror. In een bed vol slaap.<br />Waarin ik gedachten wegwoel, zoals ik vroeger<br />in zee een gat wilde scheppen. Met meisjeshanden<br />en vrouwendenken: misschien weer niet genoeg<br />mijn best gedaan.<br /><br />Of vermoeden dat ik camembert ben. Zachtrond<br />en melkwit op temperatuur lig te komen tussen de<br />lakens van klamme gedachten. Langzaam uitlopen.<br />Honger krijgen van de metafoor en dan<br />de koelkast leegroven.<br /><br />Het z&oacute; graag willen grijpen, woorden voor wat<br />niet wil gaan slapen.
